Kerala Hill Stations
Kerala is the destination famous for its beautiful sea, the tantalizing backwaters, romantic beaches and exciting wildlife. Moreover, the Western Ghats in the region consists of so many hill stations which is pristine and the habitat of rare flora and fauna. These are some of the ideal locations to spend your vacation far from the madding crowd. The beauty lies in the fact that these hills are less ventured and explored.

These destinations are ornamented with twisty roads, steep cool waterfalls, delightful rivulets and a rich enclave of wonders of nature. Also, it is famous for its tea & coffee plantations and is the treasure house of spices like fragrant cardamom. These high ranges rises to an average of about 1520 meters above sea level and consist of tropical forest terrain interlaced with vast valleys, cliffs, mountain passes and fog covered mountain peeks.

Thiruvananthapuram ( Trivandrum)
Ponmudi
It is a hill station at an attitude of about 915m above sea level. Ponmudi is an ideal location for trekking and mountaineering and is blessed with a wonderful climate and exotic greenery.Agasthyarkodom
It is a peak in the Western Ghats which rises to height of about 1890 m and is a sanctuary of rare herbs and medicinal plants. Agasthyarkodam derived its name from the mythology in which it says that sage Agasthya lived in this place.
Pathanamthitta

It is a prominent tourist center in the district. The view of the valleys below is mesmerizing and you could see the course of river Pamba and the life in the low lying areas.
Idukki
Munnar
Munnar is located 1600m above sea level and is a result of merging of three mountains Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. It was once a summer spot of the British Government in South India. Meandering Tea Plantations, sprawling lanes, well built towns, ample resorts and hotels makes this place a beautiful one to spend time.
It is also blessed with a rare flora called the Neelakurinji which blossoms once in twelve years and paints the hill to blue because of its blue flowers.
The highest peak in Munnar is Annmudi which is the highest in South India also. It reaches a height of about 2695m and is the ideal spot for trekking. PeerumedPeerumed is a hillock situated on the way to Thekkady and is surrounded by rolling hills and valleys. It is famous for its waterfalls, trekking trails and never ending grasslands. The royal kingdom of Travancore used it as their summer location.
Malappuram
Kottakunnu
A recently developed tourist spot by the Malappuram District Tourism Council and is gaining much attention. Kottakunnu or the mount of the fort was one of the military camps of the erstwhile British Empire. It is situated in the middle of the city near to the collectorate. You can see the traces of an old fort at the Peek, built by the then Zamorin. Adjacent to this place you could see the Siva Temple and Vettakorumakan Temple which has the famous murals of Malabar. You can also witness a beautiful Sunset from the top of the hill. This hill is 25 from Calicut Airport and 12 km from Manjeri.
Kasargod
Ranipuram
Ranipuram is famed as a trekking spot, apart from that thick green grassland, monsoon forest and evergreen shoal wood. You can reach there traveling 55 km from Kasargod.
Kollam
Thenmala
It was once famous for its honey, which is said to have medicinal properties. The literal meaning of the word is “Honey hills”. Now this destination is more famous as a planned Eco Tourism Destination. The major attraction of Thenmala is its waterfall called Pallaruvi. There is also riverfront leisure zone, Rock Zones and Deer Rehabilitation Centre.
Kottayam
VagamonA green hill station located which rises to a height of about 1100 km above sea level. Vagamon is loved by people for its splendid trekking place, which is full of alluring mist and grasslands. The place is 60 km from Kottayam.
ElaveezhapoonchiraThis beautiful hillrocks is very near to the town of Pala and is a very attractive place.
Palakkad
NeliyampathyIt is at a height of 467 to 1572m above Sea Level. To reach there we have to the pass through the beautiful evergreen forest of the Sahya Ranges. You have to pass through 10 hair pin bends to reach this destination, from which you can see the majority part of Palakkad.AttapadyIt is a famous hill station, which attracts lot of anthropologists because it is the habitat of many tribes like the Irulars and Mudugas. Mountains, rivers and forest join together to make it an astounding place.DhoniA three hours trek from Dhoni Hills will take you to this picturesque location. It is a Reserve Forest Area and has an amazing waterfall to its credit. A suitable location for trekking and the community hall at Kalikatty is used as a camping base for trekkers.

Peruvannamoozhi DamA captivating place which has a crocodile farm and a bird sanctuary; those who love boating can go for it as it is available here.
TusharagiriA famous location for who love trekking, which is located near Vythiri near Wayanad.
Wayanad
PakshipathalamThis place can only be reached by trekking. It has a bird sanctuary also; there is a tower in this place from where you can watch rare birds.
Chembra PeakIt 2100 m above Sea Level and is the highest peak in Wayanad. A perfect place for trekking.LakkidiIt is the gateway to Wayanad and is located 700m above sea level, at the crown of the Thamarassery Ghat pass. Extravagant forest, chirping birds, titillating streams and water falls will bring charm to your journey.
